David S. Younger

Director of Study Abroad
University of Notre Dame

David S. Younger is the Director of Study Abroad at the University of Notre Dame. Originally from southern California, Younger earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Franciscan University of Steubenville. During his undergraduate years, Younger completed overseas study in both Austria and Mexico and completed an international service program at an orphanage in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Immediately following graduation, Younger worked for a study abroad program on-site in Austria for four years. While in Austria, Younger also taught conversational English classes for non-native speakers. Upon returning to the United States, Younger completed a Master’s Degree in Higher Education at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN.

Throughout his 17 year career in International Education, Younger has gained proficiency in Spanish, German, and Italian and has traveled extensively in Europe and into Central America and the Middle East. Younger has worked at universities both large and small and both public and private. At the University of Notre Dame, he collaborates with faculty on study abroad program design, advises students on a variety of study abroad programs, and manages the day-to-day operations of the Study Abroad Office. Younger has advised for study abroad programs in Asia, Australia, South and Central America, Europe, and the Middle East. As a leader within NAFSA, Younger is the chair of the Consular Affairs Liaison subcommittee within the Education Abroad and Regulatory Practice (EARP) committee.

Boston University Study Abroad

Debbie has worked at Boston University Study Abroad since 2000. As Director of Enrollment Services, she oversees a team who does admissions and pre-departure preparation for students. She holds a BA in French and Language Studies and an MA from Lesley University in Intercultural Relations.

Jolie Roetter is the Director of Global Learning Programs at American University's Kogod School of Business. She manages short-term faculty led, semester and summer international programs for both Graduate and Undergraduate business students. She earned an MBA from Canisius College. Jolie is the Chair of NAFSA's EA-RP Consular Affairs Liaison Subcommittee.

Jason Sanderson

Assistant Director of Curriculum Integration and Assessment
Georgetown University

Jason Sanderson, Ph.D. is the Assistant Director of Curriculum Integration and Assessment at Georgetown University's Office of Global Education, where he has advised students interested in a variety of programs in Europe and Africa since 2004. He works closely with faculty on issues related to language learning abroad as well as curricular deans regarding program development and evaluation. Dr. Sanderson’s current research focuses on language attitudes and identity and his Master’s thesis focused on perceptions of sexual identity and study abroad. He is a member of the CUPA Academic Advisory Board, the Junior Year in Munich Executive Advisory Committee and represents NAFSA’s Consular Affairs Liaison Subcommittee on the greater Education Abroad Regulatory Practice Committee.
