Magaret Peloquin

Head Librarian
Austin Community College
Austin, Texas

Margaret Peloquin, Head Librarian - Eastview Campus, Austin Community College, Austin, Tx. I've been a health sciences librarian for over 30 years, having worked at the University of Texas, Pharmacy LIbrary; the Texas Medical Center (HAM-TMC) Library, Houston, Tx; and now at the Eastview Campus -- with 16 health sciences programs, including Nursing and Emergency Medical Services. Austin Community College serves 60,000 students on 11 campuses. In addition to my role as Head Librarian, I am the Web Manager for Library Services.

Focusing on user or student needs is the thrust of my professional philosophy. Whether we are delivering facilities, materials or information, it is incumbent upon us as librarians to provide those things not only which are asked of us, but also which we can determine are needed of us. Teaching others to expand or broaden their knowledge universe is most gratifying. Helping others realize their own role in the acquisition of knowledge is paramount.
