Patient came for a follow-up exam in Oct 2016, presenting with a Right proximal femur fracture (low trauma) which had occurred since the 2011 prior exam. On the Left Hip BMD image, thickening of the femoral shaft was evident at this exam, leading to thoughts of bilateral atypical femur fractures in this patient that had been on long-term Alendronate from 2006-2013. A prior nuclear bone scan report from 2014 confirmed this finding of presence of an atypical incomplete fracture. Right femur X-ray film shows a complete fracture (with ORIF) on this side.
