For decades, identity and access management has been rooted in the creation, maintenance and deletion of usernames and passwords. However, with the emergence of user behavioral analytics and identity data analytics, we are now seeing IAM be positioned as one of the cornerstone key controls for any security program, critical in both providing early detection of advanced threats and also preventing malicious behavior by both internal and external attackers.

This presentation will focus on the reasons behind the shift and ways you can take advantage of the new capabilities offered by these emerging technologies to dramatically improve your security program. Specific examples will be shared, along with real-world lessons learned from implementing this program at a Fortune 100 company.

Kurt Lieber

Executive Director
Aetna

Kurt Lieber is the executive director responsible for risk management, identity and access management and the program management office within Aetna’s global security team. Kurt has more than 20 years of experience in IT and information security across multiple industries including healthcare, retail and financial services.

Kurt was formerly with Kaiser Permanente, where he had responsibility for IAM as well as HIPAA remediation. Prior to Kaiser Permanente, Kurt worked for Target Corporation, where he was accountable for the company’s IT security program and led the technology team responsible for the PCI program. Prior to Target, Kurt held roles at Goldman Sachs and Accenture.
