Many organizations claim to be creating intelligence for their corporate stakeholders. Most believe technology solutions provide the same. Tools, techniques and adversaries' protocols/procedures are nothing more than data and information unless properly collected, produced, organized, analyzed and disseminated.

This discussion covers how to establish a proper cyber strategy using proven intelligence tradecraft methods. We will cover areas of vision, mission, goals and initiative. The discussion will guide attendees to develop their own development methods of collection. Additionally, we'll outline areas for producing intelligence using structured analytic techniques while extracting required issues from leadership for focused delivery.

Jeff Bardin

Jeff Bardin is the chief intelligence officer for Treadstone 71. In 2007, he was awarded the RSA Conference Award for Excellence in the field of security practices. That year his team also won the SC Magazine Award for Best Security Team. Jeff sits or has sat on the boards of Boston Infragard, Content Raven, Journal of Law and Cyber Warfare and Wisegate. He also is a founding member of the Cloud Security Alliance. Jeff served in the U.S. Air Force as a cryptologic linguist and in the U.S. Army (and National Guard) as an armored scout platoon leader. He has a B.A. in special studies– Middle East and Arabic from Trinity College and an M.S. in information assurance from Norwich University. Jeff also attended the Middlebury College Language Schools. He spent two years studying Russian history, literature and language.
