2111 - Building an Effective Security Program While Keeping Costs in Check

Tuesday, September 26
8:00 AM - 8:50 AM

With security professionals getting bombarded with ever-changing best practices and security solutions, it can be overwhelming. As security managers and professionals look to build their security programs, it can be a challenge obtaining executive buy-in, and when they do get it, the budget can be a struggle. Should you invest in solutions or resources, particularly when purse strings are held tight?

In this session, we will look of how we approached these questions at Martin's Point Health Care, headquartered in Portland, Maine. We will discuss and demonstrate how we utilized the build vs. buy mentality with open sourced technologies to build a custom security program instead of yet another COTS solution.
