Every cybersecurity security professional needs to keep a toolkit of programs, apps and resources for troubleshooting and securing systems. In this session, you will see and learn about common tools used in cybersecurity assessments, investigations and administration. The presenter will demonstrate ways to use these tools in both home and work. Tools to be demonstrated include virtual environments, Kali Linux, OWASP ZAP, Bash scripting, Windows PowerShell, Windows SysInternals Suite and Wireshark.

In the discussion of these tools, you will understand techniques to optimize their use based on the need and circumstance. Come with your techie hat on to see critical security tools in action.

Ron Woerner, CISSP, CISM, CEH, is a noted speaker and writer in the security industry. He has more than 25 years of IT and security experience and has established the security practices for multiple Midwest organizations. He writes for CSOOnline.com, IBM Security Intelligence and the Tripwire blog. He has been a feature speaker at the (USA) RSA conference for more than 10 years. In 2016, Ron was an official state delegate at Israel’s CyberTech conference. He built the Bellevue University Cybersecurity Studies program and continues to teach there as an adjunct professor.
