Third parties, such as auditors, law firms and other service providers, may be given access to or possession of sensitive data in order to provide services in an emergency or non-optional situation. Recent data breaches highlight the additional risk incurred when third parties hold your data. How do you manage the risk introduced by these unexpected, fast-moving, high stakes situations?

This presentation will explore the risk introduced by response-type situations. Participants will be given real-world examples of how these situations develop, and how data is used and managed by the third parties involved. Solutions, including suggested policies and procedures, will be proposed and discussed.
