Risk assessment of groundwater pollution is one important component of local groundwater management and the prerequisite of groundwater contamination controlling. For its easy-to-implement, highe fault tolerance and acceptable precision of result, the index-based groundwater vulnerability assessment method DRASTIC was extensive utilize and modified by engineers and researchers. According to the similarity of data saving pattern between groundwater model and GIS-Based DRASTIC, the study constructed a finite difference groundwater model of Beijing plain by MODFLOW software to provide data for vulnerability assessment. The comparison between the distribution of industrial, residential and agricultural contamination and the assessment was applied. The result shows that there are 92% cells of the whole area under 2-level rating error. The deviation occurred in the place where have a fast pace in urbanization and contamination mainly from the domestic or industrial discharge. Compare to geostatistic, the data acquired from groundwater model has clearer physical meaning and more time-dependent because the transient groundwater model simulate the mechanism of groundwater flow and provide an access to acquire the data of any stress period in simulation stage.
