Abstract: Using the Theil index and correlation analysis, this paper analyzed Ur-ban Residents’ Income-Related Happiness Index from multiple perspectives, in-cluding the current situation, regional disparities, spatial-temporal variations, and mutual relationship of indicators based on the data of 289 prefecture-level cities in China from 2006–2015. The results indicated the following: (1) Overall, Urban Residents’ Income-Related Happiness Index in China was lower in 2015, and was distributed unevenly in space. Some cities with higher Income-Related Happiness Index were distributed mainly in the southwest region. (2) The within provinces was higher than that between provinces. (3) For the past 10 years, Urban Resi-dents’ Income-Related Happiness Index has exhibited a downward trend on the whole, and some cities that had a slight increase in its Income-Related Happiness Index were distributed mainly in north China. (4) The correlation between Urban Residents’ Income-Related Happiness Index and per capita Gross Regional Prod-uct is not significantly positive. Most cities in China can be categorized into three types: strong happiness-small economic, weak happiness-large economic, and weak happiness-small economic scales. Meanwhile, this study also visualized the index analysis results. All of these results were expressed using different maps and charts.
