In 2010, there was a national forest assessment through systematic sampling of coordinates. assessment was restricted to points of the coordinates. the results was presented on a report and popularized.

Patrick Kennelly is a Professor of Geography at Long Island University in New York, USA. He is also a Visiting Professor in the Penn State online Masters of GIS program. He has published a number of articles on terrain representation, and has special interest in advanced methods for relief shading.
