Demystifying the Costing Sheet with Production

The costing sheet in Dynamics AX is a powerful tool that allows for the analysis of production orders based upon cost type, along with the ability to apply overhead costs to a production order based upon material, labor, machine hours, or any other segment within the costing sheet. In this session we will review the setup required on released products and cost categories to utilize the costing sheet, create a costing sheet including utilizing overhead calculations, and complete a BOM calculation and a production order to analyze the cost output.

Jonathan is a member of BKD’s Technologies division’s Dynamics AX implementation team, focusing on trade, logistics and manufacturing. He has 10 years of experience in discrete and process manufacturing in a variety of industries including aerospace, chemicals, composites and textiles. Since 2012, he has supported AX implementations in the chemical, aerospace and RV industries.

Before joining BKD, Jonathan was a quality engineer for a multinational composite manufacturing company that implemented Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012. He assisted with the implementation as the company core team member representing quality, engineering and production, designing requirements and processes and providing companywide internal training. Jonathan previously worked as a quality engineer on the shuttle solid rocket booster program with NASA. He is certified in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Trade and Logistics and Process Manufacturing and Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Operations Distribution and Trade.

Jonathan is a graduate with honors of University of Colorado, Boulder, with a B.S. degree in chemical engineering, and a graduate of The University of Utah David Eccles School of Business, Salt Lake City, with an M.B.A. degree.

Chad is a leader of the BKD Technologies Dynamics team and has more than 20 years of experience in the technology and operations areas with an emphasis on manufacturing and distribution. He uses his operations, information technology, Microsoft business solutions and Microsoft Dynamics experience to help companies assess their technology needs and develop strategic plans for achieving their objectives.

Before joining BKD, Chad worked in the manufacturing and distribution industry for multiple international firms and held global leadership positions in operations, technology and executive management.

Chad is an honors graduate of Indiana University (IUPUI), with a B.S. degree in informatics, and an honors graduate of the IU Kelley School of Business with an M.B.A. in supply chain management.
