Preparing for U.S. EMV has been a nightmare for retailers. We will discuss the complexity of industry’s certification process and delays from the banks and processors, pain points (device changes and encryption key confusion, slower transaction times, and deployment), and then break it to retailers that EMV really isn’t the answer to any of the problems they’ve been facing – sorry. Once we’ve broken the bad news, we can catch them up on everything they’ve missed in payments while they’ve been focused on those dang chip cards – starting with omnichannel payments.
