Dr. Michael A. Kutcher is a graduate of Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia. He did his Internal Medicine Internship and Residency at St. Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center, New York City, followed by a Cardiology Fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine, Atanta. His last half year of Cardiology Fellowship (January to June, 1981) was spent working with Andreas Gruntzig. He was recruited in July 1981 to start the coronary angioplasy program at Bowman Gray School of Medicine, Winston-Salem, NC. He currently is Professor of Internal Medicine, Section of Cardiovascular Medicine and is Director of Interventional Cardiology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He is the primary author or co-author of over 70 peer reviewed publications and has been institutional principal investigator on numerous multi-center trials.
