Dr. Kern is currently Professor of Medicine, Chief of Medicine at the Long Beach Veterans Administration Hospital and continues as a member of the Division of Cardiology, University California Irvine. Dr. Kern continues to perform and teach cardiac catheterization and percutaneous coronary interventions. Dr. Kern is a past president of the SCAI. His research interests include coronary physiology, intravascular ultrasound, and cardiovascular hemodynamics. He has authored “The Cardiac Catheterization Handbook” now in its 6th edition and its companion “The Interventional Cardiac Cath Handbook” which are among the most widely used textbooks teaching cardiac catheterization.

Roxana Mehran, MD, FACC is a physician and an internationally renowned influencer in the field of interventional cardiovascular disease. Throughout her career as an academician, clinician, and researcher she has achieved the highest levels of recognition for her knowledge, expertise, and accomplishments within the field.
Currently a Professor of Medicine, Cardiology, Professor of Population Health Science and Policy at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York; also Director of Interventional Cardiovascular Research and Clinical Trials at Mount Sinai Hospita.Over the past five years, she has led the development of a globally-respected data and clinical coordination center to support large, multicenter, multinational clinical trials designed, by her team, to help clinicians improve outcomes and quality of life for patients undergoing interventional cardiovascular procedures. Her work has had a special emphasis on gaining a deeper understanding of anticoagulation, antiplatelet regimens post angioplasty and transcatheter valve replacement; and collection and interpretation of sex-specific data in cardiovascular clinical trials.

Dr. Paul T. Campbell is an interventional cardiologist with the Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute. He has over 25 years experience in the field at the Carolinas Healthcare System NorthEast. His main research interests are robotics in cardiovascular interventions and radiation safety in the cath lab. He trained in medicine and cardiology at Duke University and he is a member of the Duke University Cooperative Cardiovascular Society. He is a fellow of The Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions and the American College of Cardiology.

He has several investigator initiated studies that are funded as he is the leading PI.

Dr. John K. Forrest is an Assistant Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) at Yale University in New Haven, CT. A graduate of Yale Medical School Dr. Forrest joined the faculty after completing his fellowship training in interventional cardiology and structural heart disease. For the past 5 years he has served as Director of the Structural Heart DIsease Program at Yale. He recently served as the national principal investigator for the CoreValve Evolut 2.0 clinical study, and oversees a large number of structurally related clinical studies at Yale. He also serves as director of the structural fellowship training program at Yale.

His main research interest is physiologic evaluation of coronary artery disease, intravsacular imagings. He has published extensively in this area and has conducted many clinical trials.

Chandan Devireddy MD, an Associate Professor of Medicine at Emory University, also serves as Assistant Director of the Emory Interventional Cardiology Fellowship program. Graduating from University of Michigan, he completed Internal Medicine residency training at Duke University followed by cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowship training at Emory University in 2005. As Emory faculty, his research interests are focused on novel catheter therapies for structural heart disease as well as autonomic modulation for hypertension with over 40 publications. He is a fellow of ACC and SCAI, serving on SCAI's Structural Heart committee and as Chairman of SCAI's Public Relations Committee.
