Kian Asanad

David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA

Kian Asanad, BS is a third-year medical student at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He graduated summa cum laude and departmental scholar in Biology from UCLA in 2013. He is interested in all aspects of urology and public health research. He has worked under the guidance and mentorship of Karim Chamie, MD MSHS studying bladder cancer at the UCLA Institue of Urologic Oncology. He has also had the opportunity to work under the mentorship of Timothy Daskivich, MD MSHPM and Jennifer Anger, MD MPH at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center studying patient life expectancy in prostate cancer and perceived quality of care in female urology, respectively. Lastly, he has led a research study within the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health under the direction of Michael Prelip, MPH DPA assessing quality of care through patient satisfaction questionnaires. He hopes to begin his residency journey to become a urologist next year!
