Saturday, April 22
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Location: W224 CD

Innovative health technologies are developing at an unprecedented pace with ever-increasing complexity of legal and regulatory challenges. These technologies offer incredible promise for improved patient care and access, cost reduction, revenue generation and the streamlining of conventional healthcare delivery models. This course offers an interactive and practical engagement with panelists from the American Bar Association’s Health Law Section on the legal and regulatory challenges these new technologies present. The panels will also provide attendees with resources for navigating the relevant regulations and laws. The course will be helpful to entrepreneurs, technologists, developers, healthcare providers and the other participants in the healthcare business ecosystem. A few examples of the technologies to be discussed are the new models of comprehensive telehealth offerings with integrated medical devices, remote monitoring and cloud-based services, wearables, artificial intelligence, decision-support systems, blockchain and virtual reality.
