Linette Straus, ASLA, ISA, is a Professional Practice Manager at ASLA where she manages The Chinatown Green Street Demonstration Project and Green, Complete Street Sourcebook as well as the promotion and services for ASLA on sustainability and green infrastructure. She also develops education and manages the promotion of the Sustainable Sites Initiative™ (SITES®) in collaboration with USGBC. Linette’s diverse background in landscape architecture, project management, sales, marketing and theater arts have provided her with a unique perspective and the necessary knowledge and skills to achieve success in program development and implementation, as well as with education and outreach.

Steven Spears, FASLA, PLA, AICP is an independent design consultant and a Principal with GroundWork Development Company. Spears holds a BLA degree with Honors from Ball State University and earned his MFA in Design from The University of Texas at Austin. Through leadership, design, development, and research, Spears methodically integrates the local values of economy, sustainability, culture, and human sensory. Spears’ private and public-sector planning, design and development efforts have been recognized at the state and national level. Spears is a member of ASLA and APA. He was inducted into the ASLA Council of Fellows in 2015.

Terry Guen, FASLA, is Landscape Architect, Urban Designer, principal & founder of Terry Guen Design Associates, Chicago, Ilinois. Terry is landscape architect of Chicago's jewel, Millennium Park, and local landscape architect for James Corner Field Operations' renovation of Chicago Navy Pier.
A graduate of Penn and student of Ian McHarg, Terry has expanded ecological design to the Midwest. Her practice strives to translate the deep local knowledge base of restoration stewardship, learned first hand from field experts and nurserymen. TGDA projects have transformed disused post-industrial sites into vibrant healthy destinations which sustain people, environs, and economy.

Evan Mather

AHBE Landscape Architects

As one of AHBE’s practice leaders, Evan Mather builds upon AHBE’s experience in landscape infrastructure, water quality, conservation, and environmental performance. He has led several award-winning projects, including Burbank Water and Power’s EcoCampus, which earned a Sustainable Sites Initiative (SITES®) certification in 2013. Evan’s extensive project experience includes primary education, streetscapes, parks and open spaces, and higher learning environments. Evan is also an independent filmmaker, which include “So What?” an ASLA award-winning documentary about sustainability. He holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, from Louisiana State University, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
