This presentation will provide an overview of the purpose, requisites for data submission, required data elements, and analysis reports for the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) Antimicrobial Use and Resistance (AUR) Module.

Amy Webb is a program analyst for Lantana Consulting Group within the Surveillance Branch of the Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion at CDC. She is currently one of the subject matter experts for the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) Antimicrobial Use and Resistance module working with facilities, healthcare systems, and software vendors to support the submission of antimicrobial use and resistance data into NHSN. Amy earned an MPH in behavioral science and health education from Emory University, a BA in psychology from Luther College, and is a certified Health Education Specialist.

Saungi McCalla

Saungi McCalla has been a Registered Nurse for 21 years. She obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Herbert Lehman College of the City University in 1993 and Masters of Science Degrees in Nursing and Public Health from Hunter College of the City University of New York.

Ms. McCalla has been working in Infection Prevention and Control for over 16 years and has been board certified in Infection Control for 12 years. She is currently the Director of Infection Prevention and Control at Community Hospital in Westchester County, New York. She was the proud recipient of the 2014 APIC Chapter Leadership Award presented at APIC National.

Ms. McCalla has presented numerous times at APIC and other national conferences. She has also authored articles on topics related to infection prevention and patient safety. Ms. McCalla is a Fellow of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC).
