Visiting Assistant Professor, Reference and Instruction Librarian

Sarah Johnson is Visiting Assistant Professor at Hunter College Libraries (City University of New York) in Manhattan. In addition to working as a Reference and Instruction Librarian at the Silberman Social Work and Public Health Library, she is a licensed social worker (LMSW). Her research interests include the intersection between academic libraries and social work, with particular attention paid to Master-level social work students as patrons. Sarah also works at the undergraduate library campus as liaison to Hunter’s newly minted Bachelor of Social Work program, the Anthropology department, and teaches a semester-long Library 100 course. She is an active member of the Social Work Librarians Group and is currently conducting research on the reference and instructional experiences of academic social work librarians.
