Metadata migrations are inevitable. Learn how to cope from Maggie Dickson, Metadata Architect at Duke University Libraries, who will present an overview of metadata remediation efforts used to prepare for a systems migration. Gretchen Gueguen, Data Services Coordinator at the Digital Public Library of America will explore techniques used to analyze and map metadata from a variety of sources, including an overview of a new open source tool being developed by DPLA.
Participants will be able to learn about tools, techniques, and project planning practices for metadata migration that they can apply in their own institutions.
