Jessica L. Colbert, MSLIS, is the Resident Librarian at the University of Utah. Her research interests include the ethics of information organization and classification, LGBT resources and users, and information access. She is also professionally interested in copyright and privacy. She recently received her Master of Science in Library and Information Science from the School of Information Sciences at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where she completed a thesis comparing Library of Congress Subject Headings to keyword searches involving LGBT topics.
Jessica is personally and professionally committed to equity and justice within libraries. She has volunteered at the LGBT Resource Center at the University of Illinois as well as the Gerber/Hart Library & Archives in Chicago. She serves on the Resources Committee of the ALA GLBT Round Table and tries to be as active as she can in other progressive librarian associations.
