Dr. D. Nageshwara Reddy is a renowned and experienced Indian gastroenterologist who studied in the famous Kurnool Medical College. He is the Chairman of the biggest gastroenterology hospital in the world, the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology located at Hyderabad. He received the Padma Shri award in 2002 and Padma Bhushan award in 2016. The American Society of GastroIntestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) has awarded him the Master Endoscopist Award in 2009, the highest award in the field of endoscopy in the world. This award is also termed as the "Nobel Prize of Endoscopy." An elected fellow of the National Academy of Medical Sciences, he was conferred with the Masters of the World Gastroenterology Organisation (WGO) award in September 2013 at a function held in Shanghai, China.
