Culturally Anxiety, Depression and Suicidal ideation assessment Inventories are needed in México. The aim of the study was to develop de Mexican Anxiety, depression and Suicidal Ideation Inventory according to the international psychometric standards.

The study was carried out in four stages. In the first three stages participants were students, adults or psychiatric patients from Mexico City. The fourth stage involved also students from Pachuca Hidalgo. All participants were informed of the aim of the study and agreed to answer the instrument upon guaranteeing confidentiality.

The first stage involved the creation of a bulk of items for each one of the construct that were reviewed and judged by clinical psychologists and psychiatric patients in respect to theoric pertinence and wording.  The second stage consisted in administering the first version of the instrument to 91 adults. Their answers helped to adjust wording and pertinence of the items.

The resulting inventory formed by three subscales (anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation) was administered to 321 participants. Their responses were submitted to psychometric and statistical analysis of items, internal structure with exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and analysis of internal structure with Cronbach´s Alfa (. 96 anxiety, .94 depression and .90 suicidal ideation). In the fourth stage the new instrument was administered to 635 adults from Mexico City and Pachuca Hidalgo, after de exploratory factor analysis for each subscale the confirmatory factor analysis (SPSS AMOS) rendered an inventory with 26 items for anxiety, 23 items for depression and 20 items for suicidal ideation the model for each subscale was:

 Anxiety, Chi-square= 3.27, GI= 296, P=. 000, CFI= .90, TLI= .89, RMSEA= 0.06, AGFI= .87, PGFI= .75, GFI=.89, RFI=.85, IFI= .90.

Depression; Chi-square= 2.87, GI= 224, P=. 000, CFI= .94, TLI= .93, RMSEA= 0.05, AGFI= .87, PGFI= .75, GFI=.89. NFI= .91, RFI=.90, IFI= .94.

Suicidal ideation; Chi-square= 2.82, GI= 157, P=. 000, CFI= .96, TLI= .95, RMSEA= 0.05, NFI= .91, RFI=.93, IFI= .96.

We conclude that Mexican Anxiety, Depression and Suicidal Ideation Inventory can be an useful tool for diagnoses and assessment of Mexicans, The instrument has a high probability to extend its use with Latin-Americans.
