Justin Chen, MD, MPH is a psychiatrist at Massachusetts General Hospital and Instructor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. His research and clinical interests focus on cross cultural psychiatry, stigma, and mental health services disparities. He has been funded by Harvard Medical School to study illness beliefs of depressed Chinese immigrants at South Cove Community Health Center and mechanisms for improving engagement of under-served racial and ethnic minorities into mental health treatment. He has also been funded to pursue research and teaching collaborations at the Shanghai Mental Health Center, National Taiwan University Hospital, and Fukushima Medical University. In 2014 he co-founded the MGH Center for Cross-Cultural Student Emotional Wellness at. Dr. Chen received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Yale University and his MPH in clinical effectiveness from Harvard University. He completed his adult psychiatry residency training at Massachusetts General Hospital and McLean Hospital.
