Has taught in 19 countries in five continents and has spoken at United Nations events and others coordinated by the US Embassy in Spain, Mexico and Tokyo. Member of the Governing Board of IFLA and the Executive Board of the American Library Association, former REFORMA President. She was born, raised and educated in Puerto Rico.
