Better World Books
Diane Maier, Director of Global Marketing for Better World Books has over 20 years of marketing experience specializing in marketing planning and execution, sales team support, client relations, marketing strategy and branding as well as employee professional development. Much of her career was spent on the agency side, with some of the largest agencies in the world, servicing clients in the healthcare vertical with companies such as Bausch & Lomb, Alcon Surgical and Merck Pharmaceuticals helping brand and bring products to market.
In 2010, Diane made the move client side to work for Better World Books to fulfill her desire to work for a company with a strong social mission. As the Director of Global Marketing she oversees branding and communications B2B and B2C. She is a member of Better World Books’ sustainability council, is chair of their literacy council and is on Books for Africa board of directors. In addition Diane uses her volunteer time to participate annually in CreateAthon, a 24-hour straight, no sleep effort to provide free marketing services to various non-profit organizations.
Diane is proud to be a part of Better World Books’ efforts to raise funding for libraries, literacy and education ($22 million dollars) – expand their book donation efforts (20 million books donated) and keep books out of landfill and into the hands of those in need. She is continuously seeking creative ways to cooperate with other organizations with the goal of improving literacy rates locally and globally.
