Kristen Rocha is the Manager of Early Childhood Education at the New York Public Library (NYPL). At the NYPL she is responsible for managing all early childhood programming across NYPL's 88 branch libraries, which includes storytimes, outreach to daycares and pre-ks, and family literacy workshops. She also designs and delivers early literacy professional development workshops, and fosters NYPL's relationships with various early literacy focused nonprofits and city organizations. Kristen previously served as an Education Coordinator in NYPL’s Out of School Time department. She is one of the founding members of the Enrichment Zones program, and helped launch NYPL's STEM based series programming. Prior to joining the NYPL in June 2013, Kristen created and taught literacy programing for infants, preschoolers and elementary school students at the Please Touch Museum, Philadelphia's children's museum. She brought these programs to Philadelphia public schools, homeless shelters, special needs centers and community centers. Kristen has a BA and MA in Cultural Anthropology with an concentration in Education from the University of Pennsylvania.
