Brian Shetler is a PhD Fellow in the History and Culture Program at Drew University, where he also works in the university's Special Collections and Archives department. His area of study is book history and print culture in England during the early modern period. He has published and presented on topics ranging from the history of book theft in libraries to the publishing practices of William Caxton, John Wesley, and John Wilkes. Prior to arriving at Drew, Brian earned his MSLIS at Simmons College with a focus on rare books and archives. His previous experience in libraries includes internship and volunteer positions at the Boston Public Library, Mary Baker Eddy Library, and Folger Shakespeare Library. In addition, he recently studied English and Latin paleography at the London International Palaeography Summer School. Brian is currently at work on his dissertation, which focuses on the printing history and reader reception of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales.
