Instruction and Outreach Librarian

Sara Marks is currently the Instruction and Outreach Librarian at UMass Lowell. She works directly with the College of Health Sciences, Graduate School of Education, and Social Science students, faculty and staff to support their research needs. She is responsible for outreach efforts which includes programming and events for the campus and community. Her research interests include public programming in academic libraries, social dramas in Wikipedia, and information literacy.
Previously, Sara was Instruction Services & Reference Librarian at Fitchburg State University. There she developed an information literacy program for the campus. This included working with faculty to help them understand information literacy in relation to their assignments, setting outcomes for the program, and creating assessment tools. Sara has an MLS from Simmons College and a MS in Communications from Fitchburg State University.
