Sara Zettervall (MLIS, MFA) is a librarian in Hennepin County Library (Minneapolis, MN). She was hired to help to launch Community Connections, which provides system-wide community engagement support, and has since become full-time at Nokomis Library in Minneapolis. She has led workgroups on serving patrons experiencing homelessness, reaching families with children on the autism spectrum, and creating an effective and interactive presence at community events. Prior to working in public libraries, Sara worked for eleven years at the University of Minnesota. She co-founded a blog, Whole Person Librarianship (https://mlismsw.wordpress.com), to explore the intersection of librarianship and social work, and has since been invited to present on the topic in MLIS programs and write about it for Public Libraries magazine. She was a 2014 ALA Emerging Leader, is the 2016 Chair of the Minnesota Library Association's Diversity and Outreach Round Table, and is the Librarians Build Communities representative to the ALA Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Implementation Working Group.
