Preservation in Action Event - Volunteers Wanted!
Join Preservation in Action for an engaging, hands-on opportunity to help preserve local cultural heritage in Orlando! Participants will take part in day-long preservation project at the Orange County Historical Society. The project, which will be led by preservation experts, will focus on motion picture film and may include activities such as cleaning collections or housing them in archival enclosures. No experience is required.
Preservation in Action is a new program sponsored by the Association for Library Collections and Technical Services (ALCTS) Preservation and Reformatting Section (PARS), in support of ALA's Libraries Transform initiative. The program is intended to promote an understanding of the importance of preservation while engaging with cultural heritage collections in ALA conference locations.
