This poster will show the ongoing successful collaboration between our Public Library , the San Juan del Sur Biblioteca Publica y Movil in San Juan del Sur Nicaragua and our Sister Library Program with The Poudre River Public Library District (PRPLD) in Ft. Collins CO and various International Rotary Clubs . We will show the impact of the first fully automated lending system in Central America and the effect of the outreach project El Pelicano with two groups of students in Ft Collins and Nicaragua. The 2nd and 3rd phases of automation, provided by Victor Zuniga and Carol Gyger of the PRPLD are of the mobile project, servicing 35 rural communities, and the 2016 efforts to automate three small innovative in -house school libraries. These projects and their funding from USA NGO's are described. The ongoing support of the Gillette Rotary Clubs that provided the 2nd phase of our renovation in 2015 and the 3rd phase of our renovation in 2016 which includes an upgraded media center and children's center will be shown and described.
The poster will describe the steps to a successful outcome in collaboration. Handouts will include: information for scaling and replication, links to available support organizations and copies of the programming that has worked for us in our collaborations.
This poster will be both interesting and useful to any groups wanting to facilitate progress in small grass roots libraries throughout developing nations.
