Libraries all over the world have and continue to offer a wide variety of services to their communities that are designed to encourage reading, inspire creativity, create memorable experiences, and foster learning. These services are evolving every year in order to continue meeting the needs and interest of communities. In an effort to assist the public with better managing their finances and to promote the important role libraries play in meeting the educational needs of its community, two different types of libraries participated in ALA's national financial literacy campaign called Money Smart Week. This poster session provides a visual presentation that displays the various methods used by two types of libraries to actively engage diverse library users in financial literacy. The visuals will also represent the impact this program had on individual participants, the library's collection and library usage. The poster will share lessons learned and best practices to assist librarians with their financial literacy programming needs.
This poster presentation is for diverse groups and applicable to all types of libraries. In addition, this poster supports ALA financial literacy initiatives.
