Not for Profit and ID/DD Providers Join Forces for a Day of Highly Specialized Programming

What happens when you combine Living the Mission with Leading the Charge for Compassionate Care? You get a full day of targeted, impactful programming geared to the needs of Not for Profit Providers and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Residential Services Providers. The two groups share programing in the morning featuring keynote speaker John O’Leary from Live Inspired, a timely update on the presidential and congressional races, and key employee engagement information. Then in the afternoon, the groups will break up and hear topics specific to their area of focus.

Inside the Brain: Neuropsychological Perspectives on Working with Individuals with Intellectual Disability

Speaker: Sarah Miller Coats, Ph.D., ABPP-CN, Neuropsychologist, Private Practice (Sarah K. Miller, PLLC)

Session Description: In this session, attendees will consider how underlying brain function affects conceptual, social, and practical skills in individuals with intellectual disabilities. Some emphasis will be placed on the aging brain. Through case studies, participants will discuss how consideration of neuropsychological functioning can guide case management and care planning.

Rocking Social Media: How to Position Your Organization with New Audiences

Session Description: The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society has made an intentional commitment to growing its social media presence across multiple platforms. While healthcare organizations are often concerned about the dangers of social media from a management and HIPAA standpoint, the Good Samaritan Society has developed approaches that work well for a large, multi-location organization that are also applicable to any organization wanting to reach diverse audiences.
