Join us to learn about the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, and how your school can take advantage of this opportunity that offers an abundance of unexpected benefits! We will explore the advantages not only to the international students and scholars seeking tax assistance, but also to advisors, faculty, and domestic students, as well.

My name is Heather Varnet, and I am an Assistant Director/DSO with the International Students Services Office at University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, CT. As a undergraduate at UMass Amherst, I was extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to study abroad in Japan, which sparked my interest in international education. I have been with the University of Bridgeport International Student Services Office since September 2013, but have been working in the field of international education for about nine years, having previously worked as an ARO with a J-1 high school exchange program with EF Education First in Cambridge, MA.
