Join us for a presentation on scams and fraud schemes targeting international students and scholars and learn about steps you can take to prepare your international student/scholar populations accordingly. We’ll look at trends in Region XI on this topic and different ways that our presenters approached the issue at their institutions.

Arthur Galinat, Assistant Director ISSS, University of Connecticut. Arthur is the Assistant Director of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) at the University of Connecticut where he has worked since 2004. He is very happy to be serving as past chair of NAFSA Region XI for the 2016 calendar year.

Amanda Connolly is the Associate Director of the International Students and Scholars Office at Clark University, where she began work in July 2015. She is currently serving as Region XI's representative to NAFSA's International Student and Scholar Services Knowledge Community (KC-ISSS). At Clark, Amanda primarily advises graduate and English Language students, but works with the occasional undergrad or international scholar. Prior to Clark, Amanda was a Program Manager for a program focused on increasing enrollment and support services for international students in biomedical PhD programs at Vanderbilt University and served as International Services Advisor at Clemson University.

Colleen Callahan-Panday is the Associate Director in the Office of International Students and Scholars at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. OISS works with an international student/scholar population of over 1,300 people each year. Colleen has been active in the field of international education for nearly a decade.
