As international student enrollment grows, how do you collaborate with campus partners to work more efficiently and effectively to provide better customer service to students? Come learn how other institutions have partnered with campus health services (mental and physical) to provide a better experience for students, develop creative programs, and improve campus awareness of international issues.

Tufts University

Patrick Himes, International Student & Scholar Advisor at Tufts University, earned a Masters in Intercultural Relations from Lesley University in 2014. Before this he served in the U.S. Peace Corps in the Kyrgyz Republic after earning a Bachelor's degree in History and Latin American Studies from the Pennsylvania State University.

Kathryn Gaylord-Miles

International Student Advisor
University of Vermont

Kathryn Gaylord-Miles is an interntional student advisor at the University of Vermont. Prior to joining the University of Vermont, she worked at Penn State, L'Inspection Académique de Vendée and the University of Michigan and has experience in international student and scholar advising, teaching English to speakers of other languages and international enrollment management. Ms. Gaylord-Miles holds a B.A. in Russian and East European Studies and French from the University of Michigan and a M.Ed. in Higher Education from Penn State.

Xuhua Qin

Staff Psychologist, Multicultural Specialist
Tufts University

Xuhua Qin was born in Beijing, China. She received her bachelor's degree in Applied Psychology and master’s degree in Psychological Measurement from Beijing Normal University. She obtained her doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. She has many years of experiences working with college students in university settings. Before coming to the Tufts Counseling Center, she most recently worked for UMass Boston and State University of New York at Buffalo.
