Restaurant Suggestions and Safety Tips
APM's local arrangements team is working on developing a fantastic shortlist of the best dining, nightlife, family activities and a few safety tips while exploring the streets of Austin, which we will post here later this month.

Austin City Tour

The Annual Meeting Local Arrangements Subcommittee has coordinated what is sure to be a highlight among highlights for APM 2016 attendees (and your family and friends). Don’t miss the essential “bucket list” tour of Central Texas—with Austin landmarks, Hill Country vistas, and a catered lunch at a super-famous BBQ pit, the Salt Lick (http://saltlickbbq.com/).

On Friday, November 11, from 9:00 am-1:00 pm CST, a bus will conveniently pick-up and drop-off the APM party from the meeting's headquarters at the JW Marriott. Then, off we go!

We start with a city overview, and will see all the major landmarks. Then, we leave behind the tourist areas for the “real” Austin where we will visit hidden gems only a local—our tour guide—would know about. We'll learn about the Austin lifestyle, food, music, and history while zipping around the city’s best areas. Next, we head for the hills, literally, as we wind through Texas’ beautiful Hill Country where wildflowers and wineries dot the landscape. Finally, we arrive for lunch (included in the price of the tour) at the Salt Lick—where 2,000 people a day flock to indulge in their famous brisket and out-of-this-world side dishes.

If you only have half a day to see what Austin has to offer, this is the tour for you! Limited space is available. This popular tour will fill quickly. So, don’t miss out, and register now! Price: $135 per person (includes the bus tour and catered lunch)

How to register for the tour
If you have not yet registered for the meeting, simply include these events in your registration purchase when you register online. If you have already registered for the meeting and wish to add the tour to your APM 2016 registration, download and complete the registration form then email it to our Meeting Registrar at reg@apm.org, or fax it to 301-656-0989.
