Mimi Martinez McKay, Founder and Principle of Recovery Resources Consulting, has worked in the field of substance abuse and mental health for more than fifteen years, including 12 years as the Communications/Legislative Director for Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services for the State of Texas. In this capacity she lead stakeholder engagement, web services, the Partnership for a Drug Free Texas and the Library and Information Center. Prior to this position she lead efforts to improve farmworker health as well as a special librarian for several government agencies and non-profits. She is currently an advocate and consultant in Texas, California and at the federal level. She holds degrees from UC Berkeley (A.B., Political Science) and UT Austin (M.A., Journalism; M.L.I.S.).
