Books For Africa, on a mission to end the book famine in Africa, has shipped more than 34 million books to 49 different countries since 1988. Last year they shipped 2.4 million books, 665 computers and 200 e-readers containing 1.6 million digital books, as well as five new law and human rights libraries to 21 African countries. More than $2.3 million was raised last year to ship the books to the students of Africa.

Better World Books collects and sells books online to donate books and fund literacy initiatives worldwide. Better World Books supports book drives and collects used books and textbooks through a network of over 2,300 college campuses and partnerships with over 3,000 libraries nationwide. So far, the company has converted more than 117 million books into over $15 million in funding for literacy and education.
