In an effort to close the digital divide and address the lack of broadband access among low-income residents New York and Chicago Public Library began circulating hotspots in the hopes of increasing digital literacy and broadband adoption in under-connected communities. This program will provide an update on both programs, describe the approaches each library took to attack the digital divide in their cities, discuss how the programs evolved, share lessons learned and plans for the future.
