From September 16 –September 20, 2015, more than 9,000 thought leaders, legislators and concerned citizens converge in Washington, D.C. to explore public policy issues from an African-American perspective.

Welcome to the ALC '15 press room.

This site serves as a tool to prepare members of the media for the 45th anniversary of ALC September 16-20, 2015 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

During ALC, more than 9,000 people attend 70 public policy forums, a national town hall, networking sessions, procurement fair, prayer breakfast, the Phoenix Award Dinner and much more. Credentialed media will have daily access to the conference. The CBCF will host a press operations room each day of the conference with media information and resources, free Wi-Fi, computers and work stations and light refreshments.

 The Media Room will be located in rooms 203A and B at the Walter Washington Convention Center.


  • Official media will receive a 2015 ALC general press badge upon check-in at the media registration kiosk in the main lobby of the Convention Center.
  • In order to receive your badge, you must verify that you are currently employed by a news organization or a recognized (network, cable, independent) news organization.
  • Broadcast and radio reporters: Provide an original letter of assignment on the organization’s letterhead.
  • Freelancers: Submit a letter of assignment on company letterhead with the name, email and telephone number of the assignment editor.
  • Online/Bloggers/New Media publishers: The website must provide original, editorial news coverage. Personal web sites do not qualify for press registration.
  • Media with official badges may cover all events that are open to the general public; Issue Forums, Braintrusts, Town Hall Meeting and the Exhibit Hall. However, ticketed and exclusive events require separate credentialing. Please note: The CBCF will provide separate notifications about media credentialed to cover ticketed events, such as Celebration of Leadership in the Fine Arts, Phoenix Awards Dinner and the Annual Prayer Breakfast.
