From early Harvard days to the present, the work of William Johnson, FASLA and Peter Walker, FASLA has respectively pushed the boundaries of the profession outward to embrace broad contextual concerns, and inward to new artistic heights. As collaborators they sought to explore the potentially rich interface between these areas. In this rare interview, conducted by James Richards, FASLA, two of the most influential thinkers and practitioners of landscape architecture’s past 50 years will share insights into the guiding principles, defining works and key lessons of their careers, and offer their takes on the future of the profession.
