SNF Administrators (ACHCA)

Sunday, October 4

This is a separate ticketed event and must be purchased in addition to any convention registration package.

AHCA achca

Presenter: Leah M. Klusch, RN, BSN, FACHCA
Executive Director, The Alliance Training Center, Alliance, Ohio

This session is geared toward leadership of a Center or Organization (e.g. Administrators, CFOs, Regional and Owners) and discusses what you need to know to avoid deficiencies related to CMS's new audit of MDS data announced for nationwide expansion in 2015. As MDS data has taken a greater importance in the business operations (payment and public reporting), CMS is ramping up its review of the data accuracy. The IMPACT act passed in 2014 will only increase the importance of MDS data in the daily operations of a Center. This program will review the findings from CMS's audit and show how to prepare for the audit and avoid deficiencies related how a Center completes the MDS. This is no longer just something the MDS coordinator can worry about. This interactive session will review the survey protocol, surveyor's tasks and pilot program data. The overarching issue of regulatory compliance and compliance with other payment programs will also be discussed.
