presenter photoJoining the ASLA staff in 2012, Deborah Steinberg, ASLA, LEED AP, currently manages the Chinatown Green Street Demonstration Project and serves as the staff executive of the Sustainable SITES Initiative. Her previous work with ASLA supported outreach, professional development, and education programs for landscape architects. Steinberg holds a M.L.A. from Chatham University, a M.Ed. from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a B.S. in Resource Ecology & Management from the University of Michigan.

David Yocca, FASLA

presenter photoAs one of the Senior Partners at Conservation Design Forum, a Midwest-based water-centric planning, design and engineering firm, David has helped develop numerous restorative projects at a variety of scales and contexts. Part of his focus is on the measurement and improvement of the ecological, economic, and social performance of designed places. David served on several committees for the recently released SITES™, and is leading the development of the Living Architecture Performance Tool. He is a Board member of Green Roofs for Healthy Cities and is a leader in the promotion and application of urban-scale green infrastructure.

This can be achieved with diligence, respect, communication and infectious enthusiasm. Having a diverse portfolio of projects and experience, I bring an open-minded, solution focused perspective to every new opportunity. With thoughtful decision making and communication I have managed 2 Certified SITES projects and have more than 3 dozen LEED Certified projects.

Micah B. Silvey, LEED AP, PE

Director, Certification, Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI), Santa Cruz, California

presenter photoMicah Silvey leads the certification team at GBCI where he is responsible for certification delivery, including the execution and roll-out of new and existing certification programs. Before moving to GBCI in 2010, Micah worked at USGBC where he was instrumental in the development of LEED 2009. Prior to that, Micah worked as a geotechnical and environmental consultant for several premier engineering design firms. Micah is a Professional Civil Engineer with a Bachelor’s degree in Geological Engineering from the University of British Columbia (UBC), and a Master’s degree in Hydrogeology from the University of Technology, Sydney.
