The objectives of this presentation are to examine different types of potential catheter-related complications, understand the difference between central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSIs) and catheter-related bloodstream infections (CRBSIs), and review the impact of good catheter management practices in helping to reduce catheter-related complications.

Learning Objectives:

  • Upon completion, participants will be able to describe potential catheter-related complications, and how good catheter managment practice can help reduce catheter-related complications
  • Upon completion, participants will be able to describe the differences between central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSIs) and catheter-related bloodstream infections (CRBSIs)
  • Upon completion, participants will be able to describe how good catheter management practice can help reduce catheter-related complications
